Abstract: More large concentrations of ions an atmospheric origin in thalli of lichen Xanthoria parietina (L.) Th. Fr. than in laying under thalli and laying beside thalli free from lichen areas of substratum were found. It indicates the high absorbed ability of lichens. Statistically authentic dependence of a projective covering by a lichen of a substratum from the contents of magnesium in thalli was found. Distance of the lichens from the roads is ambiguous connected with concentrations of ions kept in thalli. Concentrations of NH4+, Cl– and SO4 2– did not depend on the distance from the road, while for K+ , Na+ , Mg2+, NO2– the reduction of concentrations when drawing near to road was shown. Distribution of kations and anions of atmospheric origin in system thalli of lichen — spreading substratum confirms the opinion about atmospheric strategy a feeding lichens. The received correlations are statistically authentic and can be used for lichenindication of urbanized ecosystems.
